President Ricardo Maduro has come under pressure to resign. Bishop Luis Alfonso Santos said he was 'taking the country down a blind alley' and had failed to do anything to benefit the 79% of the population living in poverty. His comments came after several thousand protesters from various different social organisations marched on Tegucigalpa to demand that Maduro step down.
