DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Gov't renationalises electricity sector
The government has completed its purchase of the 50% holdings of the Spanish-owned company Unión Fenosa (UF) in the failed power distributors Edesur and Edenorte for 384.3m euros (US$434m) over 12 years. There will be a two-month transition period.
