MEXICO: Worries about Pemex hit peso
The news that Moody's, one of the main credit rating agencies, had put the Mexican state oil company Petróleos Mexicanos on notice for a possible downgrade sent shudders through the foreign exchange market. The peso dropped to 11.19 against the dollar, close to its record low of last March.
