Francisco Gil Dí­az, the finance minister, underlined how vital the budget, which has just been presented to congress, is for the country's economic development. He said that if the tax changes the government has proposed are approved, the economy will grow at more than 3.5% next year. The tax changes are, principally, harmonising Vat at 10% but extending the tax to food and medicine.
