The discovery yesterday of 707 kilos of high explosives near the city of General Roca in Rí­o Negro has been greeted with no small amount of relief. Argentina was placed on national alert after the explosives, which were of sufficient quantity to do considerable damage if used against civilian targets, were stolen from a nearby mine some time between 5 and 9 December.
