Wilmar Castro Soteldo, the minister for production and trade, claimed yesterday that the economy had overcome the problems of last year. The minister is leading a team to a conference in Colombia, which opens today. The conference is designed to rebuild business links between Colomas, and is the first since January last year when the general strike, and then the imposition of harsh exchange controls, crippled Venezuela's business sector.
