The crisis in Bolivia took another lurch yesterday when a 10-hour session of a joint session of the senate and the chamber of deputies degenerated into a near riot. The reason for the passion was that congress was trying to pick three members of the new electoral commission (CNE). Today congress will make another attempt, but only to pick one new member.
