COLOMBIA: AUC calls halt to demobilisations
The leaders of the paramilitary Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC) have suspended any further demobilisations until the government reverses actions taken against their former 'inspector-general', Diego Fernández Murillo. Though they have focused on this, they are also concerned about other indications that the government is adopting a tougher attitude towards the paramilitary organisations.
