Jorge Rodrí­guez, one of the five commissioners on the Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE), said that the government and the opposition had agreed on a method and date for double-checking 1.1m opposition petitions. These petitions had been sent for double-checking by the CNE because of its doubts over whether the people who were purported to have signed them actually had.
