BRAZIL: Government steps up campaign in São Paulo
Development: The government has decided to give Marta Suplicy a major helping hand in her campaign for re-election as mayor of São Paulo. According to José Genoíno, the national president of Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), the idea is to 'intensify the campaign'. Genoíno said in São Paulo on 8 September that the government has instructed ministers to show support for Marta.
