CHILE: Lavandero stripped of parliamentary privileges
Development: On 27 January the court of appeals in Temuco, in Region IX, stripped Jorge Lavandero, a senator belonging to Democracia Cristiana (DC), of his parliamentary privileges. This means he will now stand trial for charges relating to the sexual abuse of minors.
