ARGENTINA: Kirchner sees report on drug-smuggling scandal
Development: President Néstor Kirchner was presented with a report on 2 March into a drug-smuggling scandal, which prompted him last month to purge the air force high command for an alleged "cover up" and to replace the airport security agency, Policía Aeronáutica Nacional (PAN) with a new non-military outfit. Kirchner ordered Eduardo Schiaffino, the man he appointed as the new commander of the air force, to draw up the report on 24 February.
