VENEZUELA: Chávez to take US$5bn from reserves
Development: Speaking on his weekly broadcast "Aló, Presidente!" on 30 October, President Hugo Chávez said he plans to take US$5bn in international reserves from the central bank in 2006 to fund "direct, productive" investments.
