There was talk about President Evo Morales getting a taste of his own medicine when, in fairly rapid succession, airline employees, bus owners, public-sector health workers and teachers either launched or announced strikes and mobilisations somewhat similar to those staged by Morales when he was in opposition. So far the president has been able to steer a course between maintaining order and considering the protesters' demands without giving ground across the board.
