Weekly Report - 18 July 2006

The bill ordering the destruction of 651 Sam-7 anti-aircraft missiles, held up in the national assembly since last year by the Sandinistas, was suddenly approved last week in a joint manoeuvre by the two main splinters of the old Liberal party. The Sandinistas have denounced the procedure as illegal and served notice that they will try to get the bill repealed by the courts.
