Bolivia: On 28 January the US embassy denied accusations by Bolivia's interior minister, Alfredo Rada, that the US had supported an "irregular" police intelligence structure operating in the country. The US embassy assured him that its "long tradition of supporting the Bolivian police" had always been undertaken with the full knowledge and under the control of the country's governments.
