US envoy tries to patch split in Nicaraguan ruling party
If the opposition Sandinistas needed an extra boost they could not have asked for a better one than the announcement by US ambassador Barbara Moore that embassy officials had been meeting the rival factions of the ruling Partido Liberal Constitucionalista (PLC) in an attempt to reunify the `democratic forces'.
