Fresh land invasions in Brazil
Development: On 22/23 February an estimated 2,000 militants from a dissident wing of the Landless Rural Workers' Movement (Movimento dos Sem-Terra, MST) invaded 20 plantations across 14 municipalities around Pontal do Paranapanema, in the east of São Paulo state.
