Brazil-US relations sour
Development: On 18 November the ranking member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the Republican Richard Lugar, issued a statement in support of the 30 October 'Tegucigalpa-San José Accord' aimed at resolving the Honduran coup crisis in which he specifically called on Brazil to recognise the outcome of the 29 November general elections, which the US sees as the most pragmatic solution to the crisis.
