Colombian candidates back Santos
Development: On 18 May the six leading Colombian candidates for the 30 May presidential election expressed their support for Juan Manuel Santos, the former minister of defence (2006-2009) and presidential candidate for the ruling Partido de la U, over a criminal case against him in the Ecuadorean province of Sucumbíos for the extraterritorial bombing of a Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) camp on 1 March, 2008.
