Colombia to request French assistance
Development: On 24 June, outgoing President Alvaro Uribe announced he would ask France's President Nicolas Sarkozy for greater French assistance to recapture Rodrigo Granda Escobar, the so-called foreign minister of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc).
