Argentina's CGT to strike
Development: On 17 March Argentina's largest labour union,
Confederación General del Trabajo (CGT), announced a general strike
beginning 21 March.
Significance: The CGT called
the strike a day after it was revealed that Argentine authorities had received a
formal request from Switzerland's public ministry to provide information on
judicial cases against the CGT's secretary general, Hugo Moyano and his son
Pablo Moyano.
