MEXICO: US congress doubtful about Mexican aid
The US Congress completed its first review of the controversial Iniciativa Mérida, which amounts to an aid package of US$500m intended to help Mexico fight drug gangs, on 15 November. Neither the House nor the Senate seemed convinced by the US government's scheme.
