NICARAGUA: Banking on mining
On 4 September the government led by President Daniel Ortega highlighted the growing importance of the mining sector in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), with some US$227.6m in inflows to the sector registered between 2007 and 2011. Of this, US$100.7m corresponded to 2011.
