The World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Global Competitiveness Report 2012-2013, released on 5 September, ranked Panama 40^th (of 144 countries), nine positions up since last year, continuing “its steady progress and consolidating its position as the most competitive economy in Central America”, said the WEF.
