The White House's Drug Policy Office reports that while coca cultivation has increased this year in Bolivia, this had been more than offset by the decline achieved in Peru. The area cultivated with coca in Bolivia is said to have increased from 24,400 hectares in 2002 to 28,450ha in June this year, while in Peru it had shrunk from 36,600ha to 31,150ha. This adds up to a decline of 2.2%.
