PAPER & PULP: CMPC looks to become a global player
On 6 December Chile’s largest paper and pulp producer, Compañia Manufacturera de Papeles y Cartones (CMPC), announced an investment of US$2.1bn in the expansion of its ‘Guaíba Línea I’ pulp processing plant in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in a bid to become the world’s second largest paper pulp producer.
