NICARAGUA: Ortega moots another budget revision
The government of President Daniel Ortega this week revealed it was considering another revision to the budget which, if implemented, would be the third such adjustment this year. The move reflects ongoing pressure from the IMF, with which Nicaragua continues to negotiate in the hope of releasing a further US$35m in loans, as well as unlocking US$40m from the World Bank and US$17m from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
