ECUADOR: Push may become shove for Gutiérrez
Pressure on President Lucio Gutiérrez is about to increase. This week the various `social organisations' begin a wave of protest actions explicitly aimed at forcing Gutiérrez to step down. Two political parties, the Movimiento Popular Democrático (MPD) and the indigenist Pachakutik (PK) have announced that they will support the protests and their objective.
