MEXICO: PAN & PRD ally against PRI in states
In a week in which Andrés Manuel López Obrador saw his image take its first real drubbing, his Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) agreed to strike alliances with the ruling Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) in a number of gubernatorial contests to halt or, better, reverse the comeback staged by their common adversary, the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), in last year's legislative elections [WR-03-26].
