Pemex: not just an economic problem
Mexico’s state-owned oil and gas company Pemex presents a major economic problem for the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Less immediately evident may be the fact that that its unique cocktail of corruption, crony capitalism, authoritarian labour unions, and criminal activity also presents a major security problem.
