Rising extortion in Mexico City
In Mexico City (CDMX), the lucrative crime of extortion has increased in the first five months of 2019, with February being the worst month. A considerable threat to businesses of all sizes, extortion in CDMX ranges from more small-scale practices such a loan sharking, to more violent forms that sometimes may also end in murder.
