In the past month, there have been several announcements of fresh foreign investment in new tech start-ups in Mexico, auguring well for the future of the emerging fintech sector. Over time, assuming this sector grows, there will be positive spill-over effects on retail, telecommunications, and financial services, through growing e-commerce, smartphone take-up, and electronic transactions.
