Next Uruguayan government to inherit fiscal trouble
Uruguay’s incumbent left-wing Frente Amplio (FA) coalition can claim to have outperformed neighbours like Brazil and Argentina, delivering uninterrupted year-on-year GDP growth for the last decade and a half. Whoever wins the October general elections, however, will need to deal with a steadily widening fiscal deficit.
