Security & Strategic Review - April 2007

HAITI | More gang leaders captured. On 4 April the national police captured William Baptiste ('Ti Blanc'), leader of an armed gang in the Cité Militaire slum district in Port-au-Prince. Ti Blanc had been unsuccessfully arguing that the gang leaders be treated as politicians rather than criminals. On 5 April, Alain Cadet, number-two in the Bélony gang, was arrested. Bélony himself remains at large, as does Amaral Duclona.
