Mexico: López Obrador’s First Year

López Obrador campaigned to revoke the education reform of 2012, which he claimed was contrary to the interests and wellbeing of teachers. This was achieved through a constitutional reform that came into force on 16 May, though the three secondary laws to implement the changes were not approved by the senate until 26 September.
