Politically damaging videos have kept on turning up in Mexico. Last week it was the turn of two officials of the Mexico city government, one filmed receiving money from a businessman, the other gambling and spending beyond his apparent means in Las Vegas. The presumed real target of these exposés was their boss, city mayor Andrés Manuel López Obrador, of the leftist Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD), who appears in the polls as the leading presidential candidate for 2006.
