Things are not looking too good for conservative congresswoman Marí­a Pí­a Guzmán, hailed as a heroine by defenders of women's and children's welfare (and reviled by many of her fellow politicians) for having proclaimed to the world that several legislators were involved in a paedophile ring whose discovery was making headlines. Publication last week of testimony from the investigation shows Guzmán admitting to have had little more than rumours to back her allegations.
