GUATEMALA: Tainted funding cases endanger ruling alliance
The `governability pact' struck between the ruling Gran Alianza Nacional (Gana), and two other parties — Unidad Nacional de la Esperanza (UNE) and Partido de Avanzada Nacional (PAN) — appears threatened by the recent discovery that the latter two had secretly received campaign funds from the previous government.
