The Farc guerrillas are operating along the full extent of the border between Colombia and Peru. Confirmation of this, which had usually been played down in Peru, came last week from Colombian defence minister Jorge Uribe, after a meeting in Lima with his Peruvian counterpart, Roberto Chiabra — in which they started implementing security cooperation initiatives agreed a month earlier with other Amazonian partners.
