Weekly Report - 30 July 2020 (WR-20-30)

Following the unexpected resignation from Uruguay’s cabinet of Ernesto Talvi [WR-20-27], one of the leaders of the Partido Colorado (PC), the right-of-centre party has reiterated its support for the government led by President Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou. This is a vote of confidence in Lacalle Pou’s leadership by one of the main parties in the ‘multi-colour coalition’ that props up his government, dispelling concerns that the young Lacalle Pou administration could start facing governability problems.
