URUGUAY-REGION | Meat exports to China under threat? There is mounting concern in the Southern Cone, especially Uruguay, that the Chinese government could impose a temporary suspension on meat imports from the region. On 6 December the Centre for Disease Control in the city of Wuhan released a statement reporting the discovery of traces of Covid-19 in shipments of frozen beef from Uruguay and frozen pork from Brazil.
