URUGUAY: The bad pupil of IUU fishing
The Cutter Stone, a US Coast Guard (USCG) national security cutter, docked at the port of Montevideo in Uruguay on 25 January. Arriving from Brazil, the Stone then continued on to Argentina as part of the USCG Operation Southern Cross, an initiative to help counter illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the South Atlantic.
