After a presidency deeply shaken by the protests of 2019 and the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic of 2020, Chile’s Sebastián Piñera delivered his last state-of-the-nation address to congress on 1 June, calling for adversaries “to abandon the politics of the trenches” and to focus on dialogue.
