BRAZIL | Economy recoups pandemic losses in 2021. Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) released the 2021 GDP growth figures on 4 March, showing that the Brazilian economy grew by 4.6% last year. Following on from a 3.9% contraction in 2020 (on revised figures), Brazil has recovered the losses incurred during the first year of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
