Weekly Report - 14 April 2022 (WR-22-15)

Chile’s President Gabriel Boric completed one month in power on 11 April, acknowledging that it had been a rough ride so far. This can in no small part be attributed to mistakes made by his interior minister and cabinet chief, Izkia Siches. Siches accepted the mistakes and Boric insisted that his government would be upfront whenever this occurred rather than adopt a self-exculpatory approach like other governments.
