BOLIVIA: Áñez launches appeal
Bolivia’s former president Jeanine Áñez (2019-2020) who was sentenced to 10 years in prison last month for illegally assuming the presidency, launched an appeal against her conviction on 18 July. The following day, Interior Minister Eduardo del Castillo announced that the government had also lodged an appeal against her sentence, calling for it to be increased to 15 years.
