VENEZUELA: Opposition prepares for primaries
Venezuela’s opposition coalition Plataforma Unitaria Democrática (PUD) has moved closer to naming its candidate for the 2024 presidential election, with the installation on 15 November of a commission tasked with overseeing the PUD primaries. It is by no means certain that the PUD’s current leader, Juan Guaidó, will lead the opposition in its uphill battle to unseat President Nicolás Maduro.
