Hydrogen in Latin America and the Caribbean

Chile was the first country to publish a comprehensive national hydrogen strategy, and to this day it is somewhat of a model for the rest of the region. It also has very ambitious goals – to produce and export the cheapest hydrogen in the world from renewable sources. Between the sun-drenched deserts in the north and the wind-swept regions of Magallanes and Antártica Chilena in the far south, Chile has the potential to produce 75 times the energy it consumes, according to the German development agency GIZ.
