The concentration of Mexico’s violence
To casual observers this publication’s gloomy emphasis on the scale of the problems facing Mexico looks perverse. The economy is recovering (admittedly after a disastrous 2009) and the stock market is booming. Indeed the Mexican stock market is trouncing Brazil, which is supposed to be the bourse of the future. So far this year Brazil’s Bovespa is up 2% in dollar terms, but Mexico’s Bolsa is up 20%.
